Is It Blow Out Season? Not in Tennessee

WOW! What an exciting game Tennessee vs Texas was. Early in the game around the 7th minute Texas took the lead and looked as if they would never turn back. They stretched their lead to 17 points early in the second half. I was about to turn this game off but truthfully all the other games on were just as big of a blowout. Then Tennessee seemed to turn the intensity up it was like they were gaining energy from the crowd and from their coach Bruce Pearl who is a coach who can get the most out of his players. Even when Tennessee would make slight push Durant of Texas would seem to hold them off but then with 10 minutes left Tennessee made the push that Texas could just not hold back. Lofton of Tennessee just seemed to be on fire hitting the 3 point bomb that put them ahead. Then Durant answered with a runner in the final seconds. Overtime was Tennessee's they scored on every possession and were able to hold off Texas. This game put together two great basketball teams that will both be ranked in the top 25 and be ready to make their run in the tournament come the end of the basketball season.

The game that the media built up didn't exactly live up to the hype. Ohio State vs. Florida ended up being a pretty bad beating. Florida defeated Ohio State 86 to 60 firmly sending the message to the rest of the teams in division IA that even the "Already Great Greg Oden" cannot stop them. I still believe that Ohio State can pull themselves together and try to find a way to get Greg Oden more into the offense.

Many other games followed suit with UCLA destroying Michigan 92 to 55. Also Wichita State "Shockers" did not continue to shock, they have now lost two in row, 56 to USC's 60. I still believe this is good team that just let their winning get to their head just like many mid-major teams would. Mark Turgeon who is proven winner himself with three final four rings so he knows how to win and he will get this team together. The game that most interested me since I was there was the PITT game. Their blow out of Dayton was much less impressive than the score of 84 to 54. I believe that if PITT wants to have a shot at the National Championship they need to get back the intensity of the past Panthers lead by Brandin Knight. Also if Aaron Gray is the All American player I am being told then GIVE HIM THE BALL!
