Quite Frankly: Jeremy White

I just would like to let all of you know that my friend Jeremy will be on Steven A Smith's Quite Frankly tonight at 11:30 PM. He will be discussing his new book "In His Shadow: Growing Up With Reggie White." I would just like to congratulate Jeremy on his book and recommend it to everyone. Tune in and watch him tonight.

Just not quite his Knight

I was rooting hard for B0bby Knight to win tonight and the milestone win just did not come. His team worked very hard on the floor tonight for him and did make a nice comeback. However it was just not enough, the three ball was not falling and that is what the Texas Techs offense runs off of.
We will just have to wait another few days till his next game against the New Mexico Lobo's. No team is just going to hand over a win to Bobby Knight but when it comes I hope the NCAA steps up and makes it a big celebration and does not snub the GREAT Bobby Knight!

WHY? Terrell Owens WHY?(DAL VS PHL Monday)

TO is full of complaints, bursting with excuses and it has gotten to the point that I actually want to turn ESPN off my TV when he comes on. (This rarely happens.) The comments he made about Romo not getting him the ball enough early therefore threw off his rythym. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! "Hey TO, you are suppose to be a big time player and big time players are suppose to come up in the clutch when your team needs you the most. You are also expected to catch the ball when it hits your hands and guess what you don't!" I just had to that off my chest. I feel much better now.

I was really getting tired of defending TO. I gave him so many chances this past year I just wanted it to work and he just kept letting me down. So unless he changes into a team player who catches the BALL, I do not want to see his face on ESPN crying for the BALL!

Who do you care more about your Fantasy Football Team or your Favorite NFL Team?

While watching the Steelers Ravens game on Sunday I found myself rooting more for my fantasy team rather than my favorite team the Steelers. Maybe this was because of the terrible season the Steelers are having but I still feel that I let my team down a little. I was doing things like rooting for a low scoring game in which the Steelers would win with a score of 10 to 7 or something. This was due to the Ravens defense being my fantasy defense so I wanted the score to be less than 17. I was also rooting for that harmless turnover and for Clayton to get those 7 points for the Ravens along with a hundred yards. All the while during this fiasco I needed the Steelers scoring to be done by anyone else but Willie Parker and Santonio Holmes. These two players were on my competitions fantasy team.

So after saying all this and realizing what I have done I believe that fantasy football may be creating a void between the Steelers and I! So to all of you who have a fantasy football team think about what I have said and make a decision what is more important to you; your favorite NFL team or that Fantasy Football Team you have.

And to all my readers have a GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON AND A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Is It Blow Out Season? Not in Tennessee

WOW! What an exciting game Tennessee vs Texas was. Early in the game around the 7th minute Texas took the lead and looked as if they would never turn back. They stretched their lead to 17 points early in the second half. I was about to turn this game off but truthfully all the other games on were just as big of a blowout. Then Tennessee seemed to turn the intensity up it was like they were gaining energy from the crowd and from their coach Bruce Pearl who is a coach who can get the most out of his players. Even when Tennessee would make slight push Durant of Texas would seem to hold them off but then with 10 minutes left Tennessee made the push that Texas could just not hold back. Lofton of Tennessee just seemed to be on fire hitting the 3 point bomb that put them ahead. Then Durant answered with a runner in the final seconds. Overtime was Tennessee's they scored on every possession and were able to hold off Texas. This game put together two great basketball teams that will both be ranked in the top 25 and be ready to make their run in the tournament come the end of the basketball season.

The game that the media built up didn't exactly live up to the hype. Ohio State vs. Florida ended up being a pretty bad beating. Florida defeated Ohio State 86 to 60 firmly sending the message to the rest of the teams in division IA that even the "Already Great Greg Oden" cannot stop them. I still believe that Ohio State can pull themselves together and try to find a way to get Greg Oden more into the offense.

Many other games followed suit with UCLA destroying Michigan 92 to 55. Also Wichita State "Shockers" did not continue to shock, they have now lost two in row, 56 to USC's 60. I still believe this is good team that just let their winning get to their head just like many mid-major teams would. Mark Turgeon who is proven winner himself with three final four rings so he knows how to win and he will get this team together. The game that most interested me since I was there was the PITT game. Their blow out of Dayton was much less impressive than the score of 84 to 54. I believe that if PITT wants to have a shot at the National Championship they need to get back the intensity of the past Panthers lead by Brandin Knight. Also if Aaron Gray is the All American player I am being told then GIVE HIM THE BALL!

The Slots Don’t Hit!

This is my first blog on blogger.com I hope that everyone enjoys my views. I am a sports enthusiast who is very pumped to get my ideas out there. So enjoy and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Mario Lemieux has recently taken the Pittsburgh Penguins or, the Pens as we like to call them, off the market. This was due to giant slap in the face Mario and the Pens have just taken from the state of Pennsylvania. The state gaming board gave the slots license to Don Barden a small casino and gaming owner. This was possibly the worst scenario for the Pens who were originally promised by the Isle of Capri Casino Company a new arena for the PENS.

This makes me realize how that the state gaming board did not care what the people of Pittsburgh wanted they just wanted the most money for the state. As we all know here in Pittsburgh most of the state funding goes to that favorite son Philly.

So what should Mario and Pittsburgh do? I believe that the game of taking the PENS off the Market and looking for relocation by Mario is the right thing to do. This shows Pittsburgh that Mario will move them and they will lose a valuable asset to our city. I am hoping that this pressure he is putting on the city will force them to step up and give the PENS the necessary funding for the arena. It would also be nice to see a white knight ride in and offer money for the arena maybe this could be a former Pittsburgh boy Mark Cuban? It has also been noted that the NHL wants the PENS to stay in Pittsburgh and they may also be offering help.

I just feel that if the PENS left Pittsburgh not only would the NHL not be the same but either would Pittsburgh. We are a three sport town and always should be!
